Applications open about eight weeks before the cohort starts. Add your details and we will email you the application link. Required fields are marked.

We ask only so we can report on geographic reach. The program is open to adults 55–70 anywhere in Canada.

We use your details only to answer you and, for waitlist entries, to contact you about the cohort. We do not sell or share personal information, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.

What the twelve weeks involve

Four parts, every week.

Live coaching

Group sessions over Zoom with a coach who walks through each movement, watches your form, and answers questions. Session times are set once the cohort is confirmed, so they work for the people actually in it.

Structured home strength sessions

A written plan for each week, delivered through the training app, telling you exactly which movements to do, how many sets, and how to progress. You train at home, on your own schedule, between live sessions.

Peer community

You go through the twelve weeks alongside the same small group of twenty-five people, rather than on your own. The research on exercise adherence is consistent that people are far more likely to keep going when they are accountable to a group, which is why the program is built around cohorts instead of individual sign-ups.

Before-and-after check-ins

Simple, self-administered measures at the start and end of the twelve weeks — such as how many times you can rise from a chair in thirty seconds — so you can see what changed. These also form our outcome reporting.

How applications work

From waitlist to week one.

  1. 01

    Join the waitlist

Add your name below. There is no obligation and no cost. The waitlist is simply how we reach you when applications open.

  2. 02

    We email you the application

Applications open roughly eight weeks before the cohort start date. You will get a link, a description of the time commitment, and the full equipment list so you can decide before applying.

  3. 03

    You apply, we confirm

The application asks about your goals, your availability, and confirms you have spoken to your own doctor about starting resistance training. We confirm places in writing.

  4. 04

    The cohort begins

You receive your training app access and the live session schedule before week one, along with a walkthrough for anyone who has not used the app before.

Who this is for

No training experience needed.

  • Adults aged 55 to 70, living anywhere in Canada.
  • People who have never lifted a weight, as well as people returning after years away.
  • Anyone who can take part in a video call and has room to stand and move.
  • People who have spoken with their own doctor about starting resistance training.

What we are not

An education organization, not a clinic.

Jasclair Wellness Institute is a federal non-profit that publishes free education and runs group strength programs. We are not a medical provider, clinic, or health practice. We do not diagnose conditions, treat illness, prescribe treatment, or give medical advice, and nothing on this site is a substitute for care from your own doctor.

Before starting any new exercise program, talk to your physician or another qualified health professional who knows your history. If you feel unwell during a session, stop and seek advice.
